Changes and thanks!

Having some time yesterday to reflect and reading a fellow blogger's blog about listening to your inner "me" voice. I think that now is as good time as any to start some work on myself.

  • My first step was my health (3 more pounds to my month end goal weight!!!) 21 pounds total. WOHOO!
  • Clean out my "friends" closet and make the true one's more of a priority.I have learned, the hard way, I keep a lot of friends that just aren't "there" anymore or were never truly friends at all. I am revamping finally pulling the plug on myspace and just using Facebook to keep in touch.
  • TRY (hard one) to go along for the ride with others (even if if it's something I would not have chosen to do as an activity)Yet, balance that with learning to say "No" when my inner voice says "No". Example : Watching a football game with Geoff is something I normally won't do, but now if he asks, I will without complaining. Example of the inner voice telling me no: See previous post!
  • Don't sweat the small stuff aka learn there might be other ways to do the same project!
  • Don't argue with hubby about the small stuff
  • Be more positive!!(find 1 thing every night before I go to bed that really made me smile)
  • Tell people how much I appreciate them.
Which beings me to the "thanks" part of my blog. While I may be cleaning out the friends closet...there are some people that really have been there for me and live all over the US. We may not talk alot be I do value their friendship!! So lemme start out with my bloggy friends! Thanks for the words of support!! I REALLY appreciate it! And I love reading all the stories you share! My new friends in Savannah have been wonderful to have since moving here and knowing no one! Jen, you always know what to say to me. Your friendship has been wonderful even though we have been living cross county for a few years now (who would have thought we would have swapped coasts?) Laura, you are my best friend (OK, best girl friend, Geoff has told me he is my best friend and Jake keeps the man's best friend title). Without you I could have never made it through my mother's passing. You flying out there when she was in the hospital and staying for the funeral kept me going. I love that your family has taken me in. I love your passion for life. I love that you are always there to listen and talk. I may be an only child, but it's nice to have found a sister in my 20's :)

Way to go on the weight loss!! That is HUGE!
I also like the point about your "friends closet." I mainly use myspace and Facebook to keep in touch, and it actually makes me feel like a WORSE friend because I never call. Its a double edged sword I guess.
Good for you and all the changes you're making :)

I am totally impressed by the weight loss progress -- that's awesome. Just looked for you on Facebook and couldn't find you?

((((HUG)))))

I am smiling BIG reading this post.

You are exactly where you are supposed to be right now. And you are doing an AMAZING job.

I admit, I wish you lived in L.A now (out of my own personal selfishness alone) but Savannah is YOU. And I am so glad you are where you are. Let happiness shine!! :)
