Weekend in review..

Ya see, I'm already getting bad at posting updates. This weekend was sooo busy I don't know where to start. The kitchen is still a disaster but the cabinets are in. The island gets installed tomorrow and who knows when the tile comes in....grrr. The front yard is looking better and better each week. The pavers are finally being put in and the fountain will be coming in soon. Next....the mess that is the backyard...sigh.... Our kickball team lost but we had tons of fun! (yes kickball, you know you played it in 3rd grade...I remember it being much simpler then...and no grown men trying to peg you with a huge ball to get you out. Basically it's dodge/kickball) We also went out to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall. If you like Knocked Up you will like this movie too! Same type of humor... Mind you, what I thought was totally HORRIBLE was the fact that at 9:30 on a Friday night, this couple (older might I add) decided to bring their 6 MAYBE 7 year old daughter to see this. I found this wrong on sooooooo many levels. Ummm let's start with it's rated R. Not only that but come on....it's by the people who brought you Knocked Up (that's not exactly wholesome family fun!). And the worst part. There was full on nudity in the 1st 5 minutes of the movie. MALE nudity. So instead of just taking their daughter out after that ...nope they let her stay. Ughhhh... some people! Rant over! I will be putting up some pictures later on this week of my disaster ...I mean kitchen :)

Happy Anniversary to Us!

This time it was Geoff's turn to plan our anniversary (we decided to switch every year...we have only been married 2 years so we will see how well this will work in the future). He told me we were going somewhere for the weekend, but refused to tell me where.
Friday afternoon we got in the car and 1/2 way down he told me we were going to the Yacht Club Resort at Disneyworld!!! I had NEVER been there but being from SoCal had been to Disneyland too many times to count! Wow was this place bigger!!! We stayed on the 5th floor Concierge level (the kind you can only get on to that floor with a special key).
We visited Epcot, MGM Studios, and my favorite, Animal Kingdom. It was SO HOT the first couple days so we decided to do the parks in the evenings until they closed. We also went shopping in the morning at the outlets and scored some major deals at Kenneth Cole for Geoff!!!
My lord, there were so many kids and adults having temper tantrums left and right. Geoff and I vowed that when we have kids we will not have them in the park for 12 hours straight just to get our "money's worth", and then yell at them for not wanting to go on any rides because they were tired. Seriously. It got a bit awkward in lines with parents yelling at their kids and kids screaming at their parents on super hot days at the happiest place on earth :)
On Sunday it was rainy and 30 degrees colder(thank God for Disney Poncho stand). In all the zoos I've been too, this took the cake! Better than San Diego wild animal park (and that's pretty hard to top in my book)!
Enjoy some pictures from our fun trip!

My kitchen and I are not on speaking terms...

I knew the day would come where a kitchen remodel would have to happen. Well it's here and the one thing I wanted from my kitchen (moving a dumb breakfast bar wall) ends up being the straw that broke the camels back.

I hate you kitchen...
You stink....
If your darn pipes had been 6 inches to the right, I would not have to be spending a gazillion dollars to re support the second floor!!
Reason number 203 that old houses may ooze charm, but trying to retro fit them can be a bi-atch!

The little piece of piping that has made this remodel a nightmare!

And now for some 1930's wallpaper and old back splash

Oooo....I know you are jealous! Those sweet green splashes of paint would make me jealous too!

Happy Birthday Geoff!!!

Today, Geoff turns the big 28! Totally surprised him last night with the help of our friends to a Transformer themed bowling party!!! Muahahaha (insert evil laugh)
My dear husband was caught off guard for many reasons
1.) It was the day before the big day
2.) It was 9:00pm on a week night (wow...we are old)
3.) He didn't have glasses on and could vaguely see who was yelling "Surprise, Happy Birthday"
A few picture from the party:
Group Shot (notice the "Birthday Boy" Pin on Geoff

Who doesn't love party hats??!! Please excuse the wind blown hair on both of us...a storm was a brewing outside!

Yes, that's Geoff taking a birthday "shot" at the bowling alley. Classy huh? For $1.50? Who knew bowling was such the happening place?

Ode to an English Garden

What started out as an idea while talking to the neighboors landscaper is now turing into a reality! I have had appointments with at least 3 differnet landscapers and they wanted to all do pretty much the same old boring thing. I was over it! But T.J. from Eufloria saw my vision and ran with it!

We are getting rid of the ugly and leggy Azaleas (no offense, I like em....but not in front of my house, the median and side yard is fine enough for me!) You can actually see my house!! Crazy huh? We are getting a nice new LEVEL lawn where I won't roll my ankle every time I walk across it. A rose garden in the middle with a fountain! WOOHOO! And fun little bushes in front of the house and a metal gate for a bit more privacy.
SO EXCITED....can't wait to show you the progress!
