California here I come!

Haven't posted in forever. I'm back in Alexandria this week and been studying for my test tomorrow ....grrrr. Also been trying to clean and do some laundry since I pick up Geoff at the airport around 9:30 ish. Yes, you did not hear me wrong...the AIRPORT. Hell has officially frozen over. For some of you that don't know my husband. He HATES flying. Would rather drive up 8 plus hours than fly. Well when it turns out the train was over 4oo bucks one way (WTF?) and renting a compact car was over 200 bones, the non stop flight from Savannah to DC for $225 with tax was looking mighty nice.

Crossing my fingers he makes it on the plane (yup, he's not gotten on once before and drove across county BY HIMSELF instead). Told ha he hates it! Hopefully his love for me will overcome his fear :)

Anyhooo...I think I failed to mention I have a trip coming up with my best girl friend to SoCal. Laura was there for me when my mom passed away (she flew in from Raleigh and took a week off of work). Well, needless to say we weren't the best tour guides with her. Poor gal, it was her first time in Los Angeles area and the day after my mom's funeral we went and did the FASTEST most touristy Hollywood tour EVER. Not that she even asked to go anywhere!

On a whim I decided I actually wanted to go back to Socal and wanted to take her with me.

Since I have have to meet with my programs chair soon.....here is a brief overview of our trip next week!

We will start in Santa Barbara at this resort....

Then a couple days later we will be in Santa Monica

...and no trip is complete without a ride on the pier.

I'll be missing you....

I think I have been a bit hard on Savannah in the past few months. I know I am a "freak of nature", but with the hives, the sand gnat and mosquito welts, the humidity etc etc etc...this time of the year, I'm a mess!! And the doctors FINALLY confirmed I do not have lupus (wooohooo), I am instead allergic to the mold spores in the air (caused by the mold/moss on the trees). This post is giving you just a taste of what I will miss...
