Holiday Wrap Up

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!

I had a wonderful time! For Christmas the pups and I drove to Ashville/Black Mountain to meet Geoff's family at the cabin they rented.  We drank lots of hot chocolate and the dogs loved being snuggled by everyone :)

Which brings to me a question...what kind of gift "getter" are you?  When given a gift you know you will NEVER use, what do you do? Spare the person and accept the gift or tell them (nicely of course) that this might not be your style?

Brace yourselves people....

Moose Vest purchased at a Moose store (I was there and she would not take no for an answer)

Now, I might be wanting to teach elementary school kids...but last time I checked I was not 60.  I grew up in Southern California for goodness sake!  I could get arrested for wearing thar at my age!

I said nothing.  Don't want to hurt her feelings. And the icing on cake, my friend Brianne says for the rest of my life, I will be getting tacky Christmas sweater.  I hope someone at Goodwill appreciates them.  I'm thinking if she never sees them on me she might get the clue?  I appreciate the thought, but HELL NO am I going to wear those in public.  Socks and light up necklaces are my limit :)

Last week, Geoff drove from Savannah up to DC for New Years Weekend!  We were worried about snow, but it was only really cold rain.  For New Years we went to see a movie and went out with one of my classmates and her fiance to a nice italian place.

Then that evening our friends Jared, Laura and Carrie (and their dog Badger) came up from NC right in time for New Years!

We spent New Years Day doing the touristy things in DC.  We hit Arlington cemetery and Georgetown and walked to my school.

Note to self:  Never leave the camera on manual mode and ask husband to take pictues.  This is the most "unblurry" of the bunch.

It was SOOOO COLD that we stayed home most of the time and just cooked meals at home and played a ton of board games.

Twilight Scene It anyone??
We had a great time with all our friends, and anytime I get to see Geoff is always a treat (8 months of not living in the same state SUCKS)!!!

And since classes are about to start and life will become crazy, my New Years Resolutions is ....peace.

Normally I have a big list of things I want to get accomplished, and that usually motivates me.  But I noticed after this crazy year, that with school and moving, that list was actually making my life more stressful.  I need to back at peace.  So I am really going to work on that this year.

And just to make sure I am on the right track....I will finish this post off  and make some Sleepy Time Tea and watch a chick flick on TV....ahhhhh peace.

I have the same problem with the types of gifts that my mother-in-law gives me! I do the same thing you do - say thanks and pretend to like it (kind of) and then never wear it.

I hope that you have a peaceful 2010 and that you and Geoff will be able to live in the same state soon!

Madeline, just think, now you have plenty of things to wear to next year's "tacky Christmas sweater" parties. Apparently they are all the rage!! (
I wish you peace as well..what a wonderful thing to wish for and have as a goal for 2010 :)

Those sweaters are classic. :) Sense of style (or sense of others' style) can be so funny.

Happy, happy 2010 to you!!
